
James Thomson brings over 20 years of
relevant social services experience working with disadvantaged
children, youth and families. Most of James’ work
related experience has been in the charitable not for profit
sector and areas of expertise include program/service development,
strategic planning, community development and advocacy. He
has led many training and development initiatives including organizational
management projects. James is an accomplished leader with
a passion for making a difference and most recently took on the role of Executive Director at Gilda's Club Barrie. As a bereaved parent of
Connor aged 11, who received his wings in October of 2008,
James knows firsthand the challenges that a diagnosis of cancer
can have on the family and hopes to bring that insight, strength
and caring into his volunteer work with OPACC. James shares
his busy life in Barrie with his wife Kim (and two children
Ceilidh and Kieran.
