Test doubles childhood cancer survival rates

Australian doctors say a new test for a common childhood cancer can double survival rates.

Doctors from the Sydney Children's Hospital and the children's hospital at Westmead developed a test which can determine if patients have even small levels of leukaemia in their bone marrow.

If cancer cells are detected, patients are given stronger treatment with better results.
