New study: Siblings of children with cancer frequently experience serious suffering

Siblings’ emotional and developmental needs are affected across the course of a child’s cancer — not only at end of life. The research highlights the importance of screening for sibling distress and offering supports (peer support, counseling, family-centered communication, and validated sibling assessment tools).
