Sick Kids tackling childhood cancer in the Caribbean

The lack of services and specialized care in the Caribbean means some young cancer patients aren’t diagnosed until it’s too late, and often those who are identified early can’t get the treatment they need.

Toronto’s Hospital for Sick Children wants to improve those outcomes and try to help save more of these children. That is the impetus behind the hospital’s soon to be announced Caribbean Pediatric Cancer and Blood program, a sort of twinning initiative.
