Inside Ride 2014

Update 10/23/14: The event raised just over $12,000 for our families! If you would still like to support us, the fundraising site (link below) remains open and accepting donations until the end of the year – it’s not too late to help!

Congratulations to the top teams who won medals for Best Team Spirit (Playdium PlayMasters), Best Team Costume (MDS Angels), Top Team Mileage (Mississauga Chargers), and the Top Fundraising Team (Sarina’s Superheros)! Many thanks to all of our wonderful teams and cyclists, volunteers, and Ambassador Families who came out to support us! Also, to the great guys of the Mississauga Chargers hockey team for coming out to volunteer and going the extra mile by even putting in a team! Sincere gratitude to Coast to Coast and their sponsors, Playdium for hosting the event and also putting in a team, Nestle Waters Canada for sponsoring the bottled waters, and St. John’s Ambulance for providing medics. Thanks to the media who came out to cover the event (we’ll post links to their articles and videos as soon as they are available) and to special guests Mississauga Mayoral candidates Steve Mahoney, Stephen King, and Kevin “Jackal” Johnston who took the time to show their support for our cause.

Final update 12/23/14: The final tally is in and you helped us raise a whopping $28,943.89 at our 2014 Toronto Inside Ride – thank you!!!

In 2013, you helped OPACC raise nearly $35,000 to help children with cancer in our communities! This year, we challenge you once again to help us raise even more: Be an OPACC champion supporting all our heroes and join with us at the Toronto Inside Ride 2014!

OPACC and the Coast to Coast Against Cancer Foundation are teaming up again on Saturday, October 18th 2014! Get ready to raise the roof as we raise awareness and support for kids and teens with cancer in your local community. Read more about it here: http://Toronto.theinsideride.com

Location: Playdium Sports Dome, 99 Rathburn Road West, Mississauga

The Inside Ride is Canada’s first indoor and outdoor stationary cycling challenge and fundraising event dedicated solely to raising funds in support of children and their families living with and beyond childhood cancer. This year, OPACC will once again be the beneficiary of all proceeds raised from the Toronto event – a great opportunity for everyone to come together and raise much needed funds for us to continue our work! This team-based cycling challenge is not an athletic competition, but a fun, safe, and energizing experience for all participants and volunteers alike. 100% of receipted donations will go directly to OPACC!

Event schedule:
  • 11:00am – Team Captain check-in

  • 11:45am – Teams to their bikes for orientation

  • 12:00pm – Opening ceremony & dedication.

  • 12:10pm – We Ride! 6 rounds of cycling, 5 minutes each, at a fun pace. There’s a break between rounds to switch.

  • 1:00pm – Awards and Thank You’s wrap up a meaningful day.

Special note for our families:

We encourage families to create their own teams, come on out, and have fun!

However, we also know that many of our families would like to help, but are limited by their financial situation and/or their child’s health situation. We want to make it as easy as possible for you:

  • While reaching a fundraising goal would be ideal, we just want to see our families out riding with us on that day, so please don’t feel pressured to meet a minimum amount – just raise whatever funds you can and come ride with us!

  • If you can’t form a team of your own, we will find you a team to ride with!

  • And if you can’t come out at all, please consider at least sharing this information with your network of family, friends, and colleagues who would be interested in creating a team and riding on your behalf! Here is a letter that you can share with them to introduce them to the Inside Ride.

  • Finally, you can also consider volunteering – we are in need of volunteers and have a variety of positions and shifts available!
